It is estimated that about 21% of Canadians experience an addiction with youth aged 15-24 the age group most likely to experience substance misuse. Of those receiving treatment, 62% are male.  An addiction can easily get out of control and you may or may not know you are addicted. Some symptoms you can look out for are: Continuing to use the substance, or engage in certain behaviours, despite the negative consequences that these cause. Taking or selling things for money to support the habit. Engaging in risky behaviour. Losing interest in activities that were once important to you. Feeling angry, violent, moody, depressed, or sad. Changes in eating, sleeping, or weight. Feeling unwell or shaky when trying to quit. Memory issues. Secretive or dishonest behaviour. Trying but failing to reduce or stop misusing a substance.</image:caption>
