MEET ARIEL

Registered Clinical Counsellor in Chilliwack and Fraser Valley 

I provide in-person counselling in Chilliwack and online counselling to people throughout BC.

I have completed a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#19781).

I currently work as a Mental Health Clinician for a local health authority in addition to my private practice. I have been working in the healthcare field, focused on mental health and substance use for eight years.

When I’m not working, I love exploring the outdoors and hiking. I also enjoy training in martial arts and challenging myself both mentally and physically. I find that the discipline and focus required in martial arts training helps me stay grounded and centered in all areas of my life. APPROACH
TO THERAPY

Our therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) as well as Mindfulness-based techniques.

  • CBT is a therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviours to help individuals manage their emotions, improve their mental well-being and achieve their goals.

  • ACT is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes accepting one's thoughts and feelings, while taking committed actions aligned with personal values, in order to cultivate psychological flexibility and enhance overall well-being.

  • SFT is a brief and goal-oriented therapeutic approach that concentrates on identifying and amplifying clients' strengths and resources, while assisting them in envisioning and working towards specific solutions to their problems, rather than focusing extensively on the problems themselves.

  • Mindfulness involves intentionally focusing one's attention on the present moment, without judgement, in order to cultivate a state of heightened awareness and non-reactive observation. These techniques are often used in therapeutic settings to promote stress reduction, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
